Reconstitution calculator

Enter the compound mass, the solvent you added and the amount you’re targeting per aliquot. The concentration and draw volume appear as you type, with no math and no guesswork.

Preparation

mg

The total mass of the lyophilized compound, as stated on the label.

mL

Volume of bacteriostatic water drawn into the vial to reconstitute it.

The amount of compound you want in a single measured aliquot.

Standard U-100 insulin syringe — 100 marked units equal 1.0 mL.

Result

Enter the compound mass and solvent volume, and the concentration and draw volume will appear here instantly.

How the math works

  1. 01

    Concentration

Compound mass divided by solvent volume gives the concentration of the reconstituted solution, in mg/mL.

  2. 02

    Draw volume

The target amount divided by that concentration gives the precise volume to draw for a single aliquot.

  3. 03

    Syringe units

That volume is converted to marked units on a standard U-100 syringe, where 100 units equal 1.0 mL.
